Remember, O most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help and sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother; to you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions but in your mercy hear and answer me. 12. PRAYER BEFORE CONFESSION
I Confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned in my words and in my thoughts, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault (strike the breast). Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever Virgin, all the angels and saints, and you my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord, our God. Amen.
13. ACT OF CONTRITION
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven, and the pains of hell, but most of all because I offended you my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life, Amen.
14. THE PRECEPTS OF THE CHURCH
1. To participate in the whole Mass of Sunday and days of obligation and to abstain from forbidden labour on those days.
2. To confess our sins at least once a year and to receive Holy Communion at Paschal time.
3. To fast and abstain on the days appointed.
4. Not to celebrate marriage in forbidden periods and with forbidden people.
5. To contribute to the support of the Church and the pastors according to the norms of the diocese.
15. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
I am the Lord your God;
- You shall have no other gods before me
- You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain
- Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy
- Honour your father and your mother
- You shall not kill
- You shall not commit adultery
- You shall not steal
- You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour
- You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife
- You shall not covet your neighbour’s goods
The ten commandments may be reduced to two commandments
1. You shall love the Lord your God above all.
2. You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
16. THE APOSTLE’S CREED
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty/ Creator of all things visible and invisible/ and in one Lord Jesus Christ/ the only begotten Son of God/ the first born of all creatures/ born of the Father before all ages/ and not made/ true God from true God/ consubstantial with the Father/ through him the worlds were formed and all things were created. For the sake of us men/ and for our salvation he came down from heaven/ and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit/ and was conceived and born of the Virgin Mary/ and became man. He suffered and was crucified in the days of Pontius Pilate/ died and was buried/ and on the third day he rose again/ as it is written. He ascended into heaven,/ and sits at the right hand of his Father./ He will come again to judge the dead and the living./ And we believe in one Holy Spirit,/ the spirit of truth / the giver of life who proceeds from the Father and the Son./ And in one, Holy apostolic and catholic Church./ We confess baptism one baptism for the remission of sins/ resurrection of the body/ and life everlasting. Amen.
17. FOURTEEN WORKS OF MERCY

To admonish the sinner
To instruct the ignorant
To counsel the doubtful
To comfort the sorrowful

To pray for the living and the dead.

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

In the first Joyful Mystery, let us contemplate how the angel Gabriel saluted our Blessed Lady, with the title ‘full of grace’ and declared unto her, the incarnation, of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In the first mystery of light, let us contemplate the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan, the coming of the Holy Spirit upon him, and the voice of the Father, “This is my Beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Mary, our Mother, intercede for us that we may be freed from the darkness of sin and Mother, intercede for us that we may be freed from the darkness of sin and walk in the light of Christ.
